2026 marks 40 years of operations for AIMS. Industry bodies do not achieve longevity without the assistance of members who have volunteered their time, knowledge, and skills – whether serving on Boards or specialist subcommittees.
Critically. current and previous team members have also contributed to building this organisation. I spoke with Andrew Laughlin (Independent Marine Surveyor at Marine-Survey.com.au, AIMS subcommittee member), Captain Peter Murday (Cargo Consultants Asia Pte Ltd and past AIMS Chair), Gregory Marsden (Marsden Marine Ships Surveyors, AIMS Vice Chair) and Stuart Marra (AmSpec Group, AIMS subcommittee member) regarding the importance of a peak body.
